Head of Boarding
Full time Permanent Position
Ideal Start Date: 11th July 2022 or as negotiated
This is a senior leadership role within the boarding program and is responsible for all Boarding operations and people welfare requirements. The person fulfilling this position is required to have extensive knowledge of techniques and strategies to assist providing pastoral care and wellbeing to students.
The role is focused on supporting students and working in partnership with the support services, both internally and externally to the College.
The position will provide guidance and build the capacity of boarding staff to provide high-quality emotional and physical care to young people in boarding and to support their professional growth.
Applicants must have the following:
- Current Blue Card for paid employment
- Bachelor in either Education, Social Work, Youth Work or Psychology.
- A current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- A high level of reporting skills and computer literacy
- An understanding of trauma and attachment theories and the resulting behaviours likely to be demonstrated by our young people
- Availability for afternoon shifts and alternative working hours
- Knowledge of standards of care and legislation informing your practice
- A driver’s licence, preferably a LR or MR licence or a willingness to undergo training to gain one.
- Candidates will be required to provide evidence of vaccinations against COVID-19 (or exemption)
