As a PBI, Djarragun College is able to provide certain fringe benefits to staff, subject to a capping thresholds, and receive a fringe benefit tax exemption.  What this means is that we can provide fringe benefits to an employee and not pay the fringe benefits tax that a non-PBI employer would be required to pay.

The capping threshold for the year ended 31 March 2020 is a grossed-up value of $30,000. The gross up rate for the year ended 31 March 2020 is 1.8868 meaning the maximum taxable value exempt from fringe benefits and the maximum amount you can salary sacrifice each year is $15,899.93 ($30,000 / 1.8868).  Djarragun College offers the following salary packing options:

·         Mortgage or personal loan repayments

·         Rent payments under a formal lease agreement

·         Everyday Purchase Card for expenses. (Currently provided by PBI Solutions in partnership with Westpac).

There is also a separate cap for salary packaged entertainment benefits which for the year ended 31 March 2020 is a grossed-up value of $5,000.  The maximum taxable value exempt from fringe benefits and the maximum amount you can salary sacrifice under this separate cap each year is $2,649.98 ($5,000 / 1.8868). Djarragun College offers the following salary packing options:

Head of Teaching and Learning

This is an Executive role and reports directly to the College Principal. The role is primarily focused on the leadership and management of all academic learning P-12, including VET, and encompasses responsibility for curriculum development and administration as well as a key focus on academic improvement and strategic professional development.

This executive position commands the ability to ensure the academic administrative procedures are efficiently and effectively implemented across the College, though this is only part of the portfolio. The administrative work is in concert with strategic and analytical thinking with a view to improving current practice in all curriculum related dimensions including programming, pedagogy, assessing learning, technology implementation and professional learning, so that student learning is considerably enhanced.

The Head of Teaching and Learning will be an innovative, inspiring, energetic, knowledgeable in areas of curriculum compliance and effective learning approaches, a capable user of technology, and be a positive role model as an instrumental leader to all within the College community.

Multiple Middle Leadership Curriculum Positions

This is a middle leadership role and reports primarily through the Head of Teaching and Learning to the Principal for all curriculum related matters. The role is focused on curriculum management and administration as well as academic and professional development of teachers and improving student learning.

The person fulfilling the position is required to have extensive knowledge in a wide range of curriculum matters, be proven as an effective classroom teacher and hold considerable specialist knowledge and be well-respected by peers and students, be able and willing to support colleagues to improve in their own practice after leading by example and have a clear vision and strategies to improving teaching and learning within the faculty area.

As a member of the middle leadership team, the standard of work is expected to be accurate, comprehensive, timely, innovative and motivational to other colleagues.

Case Manager

This role reports directly to the Head of Integrated Case Management & Wellbeing.  The role is to undertake Case Management activities to support the wellbeing of Djarragun College students and enhance learning outcomes for students. Activities include, but are not limited to, intake, assessment, case planning, care team meetings, and targeted interventions. The position works as part of a multidisciplinary team including Allied Health specialists, Clinical Staff, Teachers and Universal Program coordinators.
