Djarragun College Limited is registered as a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) to receive tax concession including FBT Exemption under section 57A of the FBTAA 1986.

As a PBI, Djarragun College is able to provide certain fringe benefits to staff, subject to a capping thresholds, and receive a fringe benefit tax exemption. What this means is that we can provide fringe benefits to an employee and not pay the fringe benefits tax that a non-PBI employer would be required to pay.
The capping threshold for the year ended 31 March 2020 is a grossed-up value of $30,000. The gross up rate for the year ended 31 March 2020 is 1.8868 meaning the maximum taxable value exempt from fringe benefits and the maximum amount you can salary sacrifice each year is $15,899.93 ($30,000 / 1.8868). Djarragun College offers the following salary packing options:
· Mortgage or personal loan repayments
· Rent payments under a formal lease agreement
· Everyday Purchase Card for expenses. (Currently provided by PBI Solutions in partnership with Westpac).
There is also a separate cap for salary packaged entertainment benefits which for the year ended 31 March 2020 is a grossed-up value of $5,000. The maximum taxable value exempt from fringe benefits and the maximum amount you can salary sacrifice under this separate cap each year is $2,649.98 ($5,000 / 1.8868). Djarragun College offers the following salary packing options:
